
2005 WNBA playoff seeding set

NEW YORK, August 27 - The 2005 WNBA Playoff seeding is set following one of the most competitive seasons in WNBA history. The Seattle Storm will have the opportunity to defend its 2004 championship and the defending Eastern Conference champion Connecticut Sun will have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs by virtue of its league-best 26-8 record. The Sacramento Monarchs own the home-court advantage through the Western Conference Finals by posting a 25-9 record.
ESPN and ESPN2 will televise up to 12 playoff games, while NBA TV will telecast up to 10. ABC will air Game 3 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday, September 18 at 4 p.m. EDT.
