1st Place Steelheads Invade Rockford

GARY, Indiana - The Gary Steelheads invade Rockford for a late Sunday afternoon rematch with the Lightning at the MetroCentre. Gary is in first place in the CBA's Eastern Conference, with the Lightning holding down the second position.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams this season, with the Steelheads holding a 2-1 advantage. In 51 previous meetings between the two teams, the Lightning have won 30 and the Steelheads 21. Last year, the teams met 11 times with Gary winning 4.

On Thursday night, Gary defeated Rockford 125-117, regaining the top spot in the East. It was the 6th victory in the last 9 games for Gary, while Rockford lost its third in a row. Saturday afternoon, the Lightning fell to the Yakama Sun Kings at the MetroCentre, 132-129, extending their current losing streak to four games. Rockford's quarter point average dropped to 3.6, while Gary's quarter point average stands at 4.0.
