DENVER, July 10 - Head Coach Joe Wolf along with eight players from the Colorado 14ers 2006-2007 NBA Development League Western Division Post-Season Championship team all earned spots on various NBA Summer League rosters. Coach Wolf is a part of the Phoenix Suns summer league coaching staff, while several of his players from last season are playing in the games held in Las Vegas, Orlando, and Salt Lake.
"'The coaching experience is a great opportunity for me to expand my horizons with the Suns style being different from what I know," said Wolf. "The players are also showcasing their games and gaining familiarity with NBA teams, and that is very beneficial towards earning an invite to training camp and making an NBA roster."
14ers playing with NBA Summer League teams include:
- Louis Amundson - Philadelphia 76ers
- Elton Brown - Charlotte Bobcats / Seattle Supersonics
- Mike Harris - Houston Rockets
- Julius Hodge - Seattle Supersonics
- Pooh Jeter - Sacramento Kings
- Rick Rickert - Charlotte Bobcats
- P.J. Tucker - Cleveland Cavaliers
- Von Wafer - Denver Nuggets
NBA Summer League play began on Friday, July 6, and runs until Sunday, July 15 in Las Vegas. All 30 NBA teams participate in summer league play, and additional games are being played in Orlando, Florida and Salt Lake City, Utah throughout July.
