
11-Game Win Streak Ends in Normal with 5-4 Loss

NORMAL, Ill. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, saw their 11-game win streak come to an end in a 5-4, 10-inning, loss on the road against the Normal CornBelters Sunday night.
Gavin Homer put the Paints on the board first with a first-inning, two-out solo home run, marking the third-straight night with a home run for Homer.
The Paints scored three more in the third. Cole Andrews was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Trey Smith singled home two, giving Chillicothe a 4-0 lead.
Normal's leadoff batter in the fifth reached on an error and later scored on a sacrifice fly, cutting the Paints' lead to 4-1 without the benefit of a hit in the inning.
The first three batters of the sixth inning reached and scored, tying the game 4-4.
Normal plated the winning run in the bottom of the tenth on a two-out, bases-loaded walk.
The Paints are off Monday, they travel to play Champion City Tuesday and Wednesday. Chillicothe returns home Thursday for a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader against Champion City on Homeland Credit Union Night and Thirsty Thursday.
