Alabama Steeldogs News Release
BIRMINGHAM, AL â The Birmingham Steeldogs have announced that they have been assigned two familiar faces in defensive specialist Terrance Harris and fullback / linebacker Segun Ajigbeda.
Harris has spent the past three seasons with the Steeldogs appearing in 22 games. At the defensive specialist position, Harris has racked up 105 tackles, six interceptions and 44 passes defended. Equally as dangerous as a kick return specialist, Harris has 10 kickoff returns for touchdown on 49 returns and has averaged 25.6 yards per return during his career.
The Steeldogs have added more depth in the backfield with the addition of Segun Ajigbeda. The 6'2, 235-pound fullback / linebacker from Arkansas State joins Dontae Walker of Mississippi State and Rajohn Myles of UAB in the backfield. As a rookie last season, Ajigbeda played in 12 games and amassed 52 yards on the ground on 12 carries and punched it in to the endzone four times. Defensively, he recorded 39 tackles and added a forced fumble.
"We are very excited to bring in some experienced players that know the system and will provide leadership to the rookies," said Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey. "With Harris back and healthy the entire complexion of our kick return game changes because he is a playmaker and on any given return can take it to the house"
Season tickets to the Steeldogs 2004 season are currently available. Packages start at just $64. For more information, contact the Steeldogs Ticket Office at 205.458.8833.
