Atlanta Blaze News Release
KENNESAW - Scott Ratliff, Atlanta Blaze Long-Stick Midfielder, has just agreed to a 2-year contract extension with the Atlanta Blaze.
Ratliff is easily one of the top LSM's in the league. While most LSM's are strictly defensive players and will sub off the field once they secure possession of the ball for their team, Ratliff is set apart by his tremendous ability to put up points on the offensive end of the field. Countless highlights can be found of Ratliff exploiting face-off specialists and offensive midfielders to score or feed his teammates.
Ratliff is one of the best LSM's in recent history, having scored 20 points for both the 2016 and 2015 season (for reference-the next highest defensive scorers scored 7 and 10 points in 2016 and 2015 seasons, respectively). It is certain that opponents are very aware of Ratliff's scoring prowess and must tailor a game plan to combat his unique skills. Ratliff is a powerful force for Atlanta and will be an enormous threat to Blaze opponents in the coming 2017 season.
"ATL is where I hope and plan to play the rest of my career", Ratliff said, "this [contract extension] is a step towards doing that". Ratliff also added that he is grateful to the coaching staff and Blaze organization for the opportunity to continue playing in Atlanta. With his contract extension, Blaze fans can expect a show from Scott Ratliff for years to come.
