Defenseman Brendon Michaelian Returns to the Walleye

July 25, 2024 - (Toledo, OH) - Defenseman Brendon Michaelian will return to the Pond for a second season in Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2024-25 ECHL season. Michaelian, of Wixom, MI, made his ECHL debut with the Walleye last season, scoring seven points (1G, 6A) and six penalty minutes in 29 games. He skated in 14 playoff games for the Fish in 2024, tallying two assists and four penalty minutes. July 24, 2024 - (Toledo, OH) - Defenseman Jalen Smereck will join the Pond for his first season in Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2024-25 ECHL season. Smereck, a Detroit, MI native, joins the Walleye after spending parts of each of the last two seasons with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Smereck was a 2024 ECHL All-Star and named to the All-ECHL First Team for the Cyclones after a career year. July 23, 2024 - (Toledo, OH) - Forward Dalton Messina will return to the Pond for a second season in Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2024-25 ECHL season. Messina, a Macomb, MI native, joined the Walleye down the stretch last season, scoring three goals and accruing two penalty minutes in ten regular season games while also appearing in four playoff games with no points. July 17, 2024 - (Toledo, OH) - Forward Casey Dornbach will enter the Pond for his first season in Toledo after agreeing to terms for the 2024-25 ECHL season. Dornbach, an Edina, MN native, completed his first full year as a pro between the ECHL and AHL. Last year, the 27-year-old netted 42 points (13G, 29A) in 55 games with the ECHL's Iowa Heartlanders.
