Griffins' Great Skate Winterfest Canceled for 2021, Will Return in 2022

November 19, 2020 - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday announced that their 18th annual Great Skate Winterfest, set for Jan. 16-17, 2021 at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids, has been canceled due to the realities of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. October 28, 2020 - Forward Nolan LaPorte has agreed to terms with the Walleye for the 2020-21 season. LaPorte, 28, spent last season overseas racking up 39 points (16G, 23A) in 47 games for the Glasgow Clan in the Elite Hockey League. October 9, 2020 - The ECHL, in conjunction with the Professional Hockey Players' Association, announced today that the 2020-21 Season will commence on December 11, 2020 under a split-season format.
