May 31, 2011 - BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Gilles Courteau, today announced that the Lewiston MAINEiacs franchise will be bought out by the League. The decision was rendered this afternoon following a vote from League Members. The financial terms were not disclosed. Memorial Cup Update

May 26, 2011 - The round robin portion of the 2011 Mastercard Memorial Cup has been completed, and the road to the trophy is now set. The tournament began on Friday, as the host Mississauga St. Michael's Majors welcomed the Saint John Sea Dogs to Hershey Centre. The Sea Dogs' Tomas Jurco needed just 1:44 to start the scoring in a first period that featured two goals for each team (Jurco and Huberdeau for SJ, Cizikas and Smith-Pelly for MISS). May 23, 2011 - With the 2011 Mastercard Memorial Cup currently in progress, now is a perfect time to look back at the Lewiston MAINEiacs' Memorial Cup appearance in 2007. The MAINEiacs reached the 2007 Mastercard Memorial Cup after quite the run through the QMJHL regular season and playoffs. Lewiston posted a 50-14-2-4 record in the regular season, before winning 16 of 17 playoff games against Shawinigan, Halifax, Rouyn-Noranda, and Val-d'Or, as they became the first United States based team to capture the President's Cup.
