(Tupelo) - The Mississippi Hound Dogs are proud to announce their Offensive and Defensive Players of the week for their game on March, 30th against the Florida Tarpons. Their Offensive Player of the week is Wide Receiver, Rod Jefferson from Batesville, MS who has scored 10 touchdowns in 3 games. And their Defensive Player of the week is Defensive Back, Arthur Williams from Atlanta, GA who has 7 tackles, 4 interceptions and 8 pass breakups and 1 touchdown in 3 games.
Coach Bingham said that both players are leading the UIFL in their positions and that both of them are outstanding young men, who he is looking forward to seeing advance their careers later in the CFA, Arena 1 or NFL. He is also very proud of his team and how they played last week, especially with all that they have been through in the last few weeks.
They are back in action this week with a full roster for their rematch against the Lakeland Raiders at the BancorpSouth Arena, on Saturday, April 7th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and pregame activities begin at 7:00 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and tailgating starts at 5 p.m. in the BancorpSouth Parking Lot.
Coach Bingham said, "This game is vital to the Hound Dogs and is a must win, even though we are one and four for the season, we are still in the hunt for the playoffs, a win this week will tie us for third position." So, come out on Saturday night and support the Hound Dogs and all of their sponsors and enjoy a great atmosphere, which will provide fun for the entire family.
