January 3, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN --- The Memphis RiverKings announced today that the team has activated forward Brad Wanchulak and that forward Darrell Stoddard has been granted leave by the Central Hockey League for personal reasons.

Wanchulak started this season in the Dutch Elite League, but had also signed a contract with the RiverKings prior to going to Europe, allowing the RiverKings to retain his rights in the event that he returned. In 19 games with the Heerenveen Flyers, the Edson, Alberta native scored 14 goals and had 26 assists. During the summer, he played in the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) with the Adelaide Avalanche, where he led the team in scoring with 53 points (26 goals/27 assists) in 23 games.

Last season, Wanchulak played the final 14 games of the season with the RiverKings. He scored eight goals and assisted on six others in those games. Before signing with the RiverKings, he was with Phoenix (ECHL), Pee Dee (SPHL) and Greenville (ECHL) during his rookie season. Prior to last season, he played college hockey at Division I Notre Dame.

Wanchulak practiced with the team today (Wednesday) and is expected to play this weekend when the RiverKings travel to Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Both games will start at 7:35 and will be heard on Sports56 WHBQ (AM 560).
