Tightly Fought Game Goes to Legends

Erie, PA- The Erie BayHawks (2-8) fell short in a close game against the Texas Legends (6-4) tonight at Erie Insurance Arena, 101-111.

The teams traded baskets through the first until Texas grabbed the lead behind an 8-0 run midway through the quarter. The BayHawks rallied to outscore the Legends 28-24 in the second quarter to cut the lead to only three at the break.

The BayHawks started cold out of the half, shooting only 32% in the third quarter but would respond in the fourth with an 11-2 run to take the lead 89-87 with 7:00 to play. After trading baskets, the Legends would jump back in front behind a commanding Courtney Fells dunk and a three-pointer from Manny Harris to ice the game with :52 to play.

Stephen Zimmerman notched his fourth double-double in as many games with 20 points and 10 rebounds. TJ Price (7-of-20), Michael Lyons (6-of-12), Ramon Galloway (7-of-16), and Gabe York (6-of-12) each added 16 points. Galloway dished out six assists and grabbed eight rebounds.

Pierre Jackson had a game-high 34 points on 9-of-18 shooting, including 12-of-14 from the line while posting six rebounds and five assists. Manny Harris and Quincy Acy each added a double-doubles. Harris had 25 points and 15 rebounds while Acy notched 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The BayHawks are back tomorrow against the Canton Charge at the Canton Civic Center at 7pm. The BayHawks return to Erie Insurance Arena on Thursday, December 15. Tickets are available at eriebayhawks.com or by calling 814-790-5600.
