Spartans' Brown to Take Leave of Absence
La Crosse, WI: La Crosse Spartans general manager Chris Kokalis announced today that head coach Gilbert Brown will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team and his coaching duties to tend to personal and family matters. Kokalis has named assistant coach Kyle Moore-Brown as the team's interim head coach. Defensive coordinator Mitch Madland will take over duties as assistant head coach.
"Our thoughts are with Coach Brown as he handles some off the field matters," Kokalis said. "I have the utmost confidence in Kyle that he can step in and continue us on the road to success. I believe he is one of the best coaches in this league and I'm confident in turning things over to him at this time. This organization's focus is on winning and I know that Kyle and all of our coaches share that focus."
