SAVANNAH, GA. - The Savannah Bananas revealed five uniforms for their inaugural season at Grayson Stadium including a traditional home white button down jersey, their Inaugural Home Opener Green Banana Jersey, grey road uniforms, and a blue alternate road jersey. The Bananas also released a banana yellow top and pants combination that's sure to wow fans and will be worn for special games during the season.
The Bananas will open the 2016 season on June 2nd with a special Opening Night Green Bananas Jersey. No different than new bananas arriving at the store, the Green Banana Opening Night jersey will represent the new Bananas arriving for their inaugural season. The Green Banana Jersey will only be worn on Opening Night to commemorate the first ever Bananas to arrive at Grayson Stadium. The Green Banana Jerseys will be auctioned off at games during the first week of the season.
The traditional home white Bananas jersey with Bananas script and white pants will be worn for most home games during the season. On the road, the Bananas will wear a more traditional grey jersey with Savannah script and an alternate blue jersey with the Bananas logo on the left chest.
"We are proud to release the Bananas jerseys to the Savannah community," said Owner Jesse Cole. "We always try to be different and unique in everything we do and we believe the Opening Night Green Banana Jerseys as well as the all yellow uniforms will not only be special for the players, but for the fans as well."
A limited amount of home white jerseys are on sale for $55 in the Banana Stand at Grayson Stadium and online at www.TheSavannahBananas.com.The Savannah Bananas introduced the five game plan this spring that includes tickets to the five biggest games of the year including Opening Night and all four fireworks shows. All tickets include All You Can Eat chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, dessert, soda and water for only $15 a ticket. The Savannah Bananas are owned by Fans First Entertainment who also owns and operates the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League. The Grizzlies have led the league in attendance the past three seasons, been named Organization of the Year and recognized regionally and nationally for unique from promotions and their fan experience.
