The WHEAT KINGS will be hoping to snap a 2-game winless (0-1-1) streak tonight when they play their third of a grueling 7-game western road trip in KELOWNA against the ROCKETS.After opening the trip with a 4-4 overtime tie in PRINCE GEORGE on Wednesday, the WHEAT KINGS fell 2-1 in VANCOUVER last night.The GIANTS scored two unanswered first period goals and hung on for the win.DEREK LEBLANC, shorthanded in the second, scored in a losing cause for the WHEAT KINGS, who were outshot 34-23 including 15-4 in the final period.RYAN STONE had two goals and MIKE NICHOL made 47 saves in Wednesday's tie against the COUGARS.BRANDON enters tonight's game with a record of 6-4-1-1, good for fourteen points and second place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division - two points up on both PRINCE ALBERT and REGINA and seven behind the front running SASKATOON BLADES.BRANDON is 4-2-0-1 at home and 2-2-1 on the road; 1-1-1 vs. Western Conference clubs and 0-0-1-1 in overtime this season.After going winless during two west coast tours last season, the WHEAT KINGS will be hoping to win their first game on the coast since November 2nd, 2002 when they dumped the ROCKETS in KELOWNA.Before leaving on this extended road trip, the WHEAT KINGS came from behind to beat KOOTENAY 4-3 Sunday night.Second year forward COREY COURCHENE'S first goal of the season with four minutes remaining in the third period was the difference.BRANDON went 2-2-0 on it's recent four game home stand.BRANDON currently has 24 players on it's active roster - two goalkeepers, 7 defencemen and fifteen forwards.
