Texas Revolution News Release

Frisco - After coming up short in their first five games of the season, the Texas Revolution handily defeated the Dallas Marshalls for their first win by a final score of 43-9.

During the Marshalls' first snap of the game, the Revs' defensive line set the tone for the offense by coming up with a safety to start off 2-0. Two plays later, quarterback Richard Adkins connected with wide receiver Jamal Kelley for an 8-yard touchdown to go up 9-0. The Marshalls responded with an 18-yard field goal on the ensuing drive by kicker Brad Dunavant to make it 9-3. Dunavant was responsible for three field goals on the day and was the only player to score for the Marshalls during the entire game. Adkins passed for the second of his total of three touchdowns on the Revs' very next offensive possession when he found wide receiver Tavarres Williams in the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown pass to make it 16-3. That was the last time the Marshalls were within two scores and the Revolution just continued to add to that lead for the next three quarters.

Running back Darius Fudge was named player of the game due to his rushing for 130 yards and adding 10 more receiving yards to his total as well. During the start of the third quarter, Fudge broke off a particularly impressive run by gaining 21-yards before he was brought down. He had already rushed for over 100 yards before the fourth quarter started.

The Revolution's next game is a rematch against the Dallas Marshalls when they visit Fair Park Coliseum on Cinco de Mayo.
