Rancho Cucamonga, CA. - With 16 hits, the Modesto Nuts ended their five-game losing streak with a 10-5 win against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Wednesday night at LoanMart Field.
Rayder Ascanio gave the Nuts (59-51; 20-20) the lead for good when he drilled a two-run double in the second inning against Quakes' (62-48; 26-14) starter Adam Bray (L, 6-3). Ascanio finished with a pair of doubles.
In the third, Willie Argo doubled home Kyle Lewis for the first of his two RBI. Argo added a solo home run in the seventh and finished 3-for-5.
Bray lasted just five innings and allowed six runs on eight hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Reggie McClain (W, 9-8) earned his first win since June 29th by working five innings and allowing just one run on four hits with four strikeouts.
