Nets Take Down Charge

The Canton Charge (3-6), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, were defeated at home by the Long Island Nets (7-4), 126-101, in front of 2,227 on Friday night. The win was the second for the Nets over Canton in the last seven days.

Long Island made their move after falling behind 4-0 to start the game, they went on a 13-2 run for the game's only lead change. The Nets kept their advantage throughout thanks in part to their defensive efforts that forced 22 Charge turnovers that resulted in 30 points. Long Island also pushed the ball down the court for 32 fast break points to Canton's 13.

The Nets' Milton Doyle scored a game-high 25 points on 5-of-10 from distance and 10-of-18 overall with 10 rebounds and nine assists in 36 minutes. J.J. Moore came off the bench to score 19 points on 5-of-5 from three-point range in 22 minutes. Shannon Scott had an all-around effort of 11 points, five rebound, seven assists and three steals in 32 minutes. Tahjere McCall added 15 points and five steals, while Kamari Murphy had 15 points and eight boards.

The Charge were led by Ante Zizic's 19 points and nine rebounds in 23 minutes on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Arthur Edwards came off the bench to provide 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, nine rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes of relief. John Holland scored 16 points and nabbed three steals in 39 minutes. JaCorey Williams and Marcus Thornton each scored 13 points for Canton.

Canton hits the road for a two game trip beginning with a visit to the Salt Lake City Stars (Utah Jazz) on Monday, December 4th at 9:00 p.m. The Charge return to the Memorial Civic Center on Friday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m. against the Delaware 87ers for Dollar Dog Night presented by Sugardale.
