JACKSONVILLE- The Maine Mammoths (2-8) traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the Jacksonville Sharks (7-4) on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in a crucial game for a chance to make it easier to make it to the playoffs. The Mammoths lost 21-51 at Jacksonville.

Quarterback Jonathan Bane started the game, but didn't finish the game. He was 10-of-21 for 137 for two touchdowns and two interceptions before Kenyatte Allen took over at quarterback. He finished the game 5-of-11 for 56 yards and one touchdown. Devin Wilson had three catches, but had 68 yards and one touchdown against his former team. Edgar Poe Jr. was the main man tonight with five receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown. Rob Brown for the receiver spot made four catches for 41 yards and one touchdown. A player that made an impact late in the game was Maurice Dupree. He ended the night with two receptions for a big 22 yards.

The Mammoths kept it close with the Sharks until they faded away shortly before halftime. Brown caught the Mammoths first touchdown pass from 20 yards out. Edgar Poe Jr. found the end zone for the Mammoths second touchdown of the night from 17 yards out.

After halftime, the Mammoths struggled to keep up with the Sharks, allowing 14 points in the third quarter and scoring no points. The Mammoths trailed 14-44 to begin the fourth quarter. A touchdown pass from Allen to Wilson made the game 21-51. From there, the Sharks killed the clock and ended the game.

The next Mammoths game is against the Carolina Cobras in Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 7:00 pm (E.T).
