Legends Stifle Stampede

BOISE, ID - The Texas Legends (14-10) swept the weekend series in Idaho with a 114-106 victory over the Stampede (10-18) Sunday night.

The Stampede took an early lead and maintained control, shooting 54% in the first to outscore the Legends 30-25. Idaho continued to widen the gap, taking their largest lead of the night within minutes. Texas matched their shooting at 60% and outrebounded the home squad 9-6, but found themselves short 54-60 at the break.

The Legends came out of the locker room firing and found their first lead of the night four minutes into the third. Tu Holloway and Brandon Ashley combined for a 20-point effort as the Legends held the Stampede to a 22-point quarter. With seconds left, the Legends were clinging to a 3-point advantage but Jamil Wilson and Satnam Singh posted back-to-back baskets to close with an 89-82 lead. Patrick Miller set the tone with an early slam and powered out 14 points in the final 12 minutes as the Legends took their third victory of the season on the Stampede.

Ashley led the Legends with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks while Holloway followed closely with 20 points, 5 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists. Miller came off the bench to add 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals for the visiting team, and Wilson (17 points, 7 rebounds) and Toure' Murry (15 points, 6 assists) rounded off the Legends' double-digit scores.

Brandon Fields led the Stampede off the bench with 21 points, 3 assists while E.J. Singler added 16 points, 5 rebounds.
