Hound Dogs Join Tupelo Sports Scene

Mississippi Hound Dogs News Release


TUPELO, MS - By paying homage to the birthplace of Elvis Presley, the Mississippi Hound Dogs are now officially the name of the UIFL-team that will be based in Tupelo.

Mississippi, co-owned by Andrew Haines and Michael Taylor, will play its home games in the Bankcorp South Arena. The team colors of blue, light blue and tan, along with the team logo was announced today (September 26) at a press conference. Single game tickets will start at $7.00. Season tickets start at $42.00 for a seven-game home slate.

"Professional indoor football is back in Mississippi," said co-owner Andrew Haines. "Obviously, our goal is to have a championship caliber to Tupelo."

The Hound Dogs have already announced that Martino Theus will be the team's head coach. It's website, www.mississippihounddogs.com, will be available soon.

Tupelo will compete in the Southern Conference with the Huntington (WVa.) Hammer, Eastern Kentucky Drillers, Rome (GA) Rampage, Florida Tarpons, Lakeland Raiders, Carolina Aviators and East Ridge (TN).
