Hens Avoid Sweep with Win in Louisville
August 25, 2013 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release
The Hens opened things up with a two-run second and never looked back, defeating the Louisville Bats 4-1 Sunday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field. With the win Toledo avoided being swept by its divisional foe.
In his first appearance since tossing a complete game, one-hit shutout on Aug. 19 against Gwinnett, Blaine Hardy was once again fantastic. The young lefty gave Toledo seven innings of work, while allowing just three hits and keeping the Bats off the scoreboard. With the win Hardy improved to 6-1 on the season.
Nick Castellanos gave the Hens bullpen an additional cushion, blasting a two-run home run over the left center field fence in the eighth inning to give Toledo a 4-0 advantage. The homer was Castellanos' 16th of the year.
The Hens hit the road again for a three-game series at division-leading Indianapolis. Kyle Lobstein (4-3, 3.88 ERA) will take the mound for Toledo in the opener.
