Cleveland Gladiators News Release
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators, presented by Unique Home Solutions, announced today they will host three additional Free Agent Combines in the southeastern U.S. during the month of February. The dates and locations are as follows: Saturday, February 11th, 2017-D1 Sports Training, Knoxville, TN; Saturday, February 18th, 2017-D1 Sports Training, Memphis, TN; Saturday, February 25th, 2017-D1 Sports Training, Birmingham, AL. The entry fee for each of the free agent tryouts is $80, cash only, payable upon registration on the day of each combine.
"We're looking forward to discovering talent and developing a presence in the southeastern U.S.," said Gladiators Head Coach Ron Selesky. "Being able to evaluate players in different areas of the country is an important component to our team's growth. Having the ability to conduct these combines at D1 facilities will provide athletes with a top flight environment where they can showcase their skills and maximize their performance. We discovered WR Devin Wilson in 2014 at a combine we conducted at D1 Birmingham, and I'm confident we will discover players of the same caliber at this year's combines."
The combines will feature traditional combine testing drills which include the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump and the L drill. Participants will also be placed into position and group-specific drills. Players must wear comfortable athletic shorts and a t-shirt. The tryout surface will be field turf, so turf shoes or molded bottom cleats are required. No track spikes will be permitted. For additional information, please email info@clevelandgladiators.com .
