Georgia Force Fall to the Kansas City Command 39-27

Kansas City, MO - The Georgia Force fell to the the Kansas City Command with a final game score of 39-27 inthe Arena Football League's Week 12 contest held at the Spring Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

After Georgia held Kansas City on downs, the Force responded with a nine yard touchdown from QB Kevin Eakin to WR CJ Johnson. A few minutes later, the Command tied up the game with a 1 yard touchdown by QB Matt Gutierrez. JLB Bradley Chavez intercepted Eakin's pass and returned it for a 5 yard touchdown with 3:41 minutes left in the first quarter. Eakin hooked up with Johnson for the second time in the night with a 13 yard touchdown to start off the second quarter. With 55 seconds left in the half, K Carlos Martinez connected on a 23 yard field goal, pulling the Force up 17-13. The Command quickly answered with a 28 yard touchdown from Gutierrez to WR Jackie Chambers. A 23 yard field goal pulled Kansas City up 23-17 at the end of the half.

The Force drove down the field in the third quarter, and Eakin found WR Syvelle Newton for an eight yard touchdown pass. A 10 yard touchdown from Gutierrez to WR Keith Eloi pulled the Command up to 30-324 at the start of the fourth. Martinez connected on a 31 yard field goal, narrowing the Command lead to 3. With roughly 6 minutes left in the game, the Command managed a 10 point lead with another touchdown pass from Gutierrez to Eloi. The Command closed out the game with a sack for a safety, securing the Kansas City victory, 39-27.

The Force will return home next weekend, facingthe New Orleans VooDoo on Saturday, June 2nd at 7 p.m. EST atthe The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. The game will be streamed live onUstreamas well as televised on WSB's MeTV, Comcast channel 248 and Charter channel 126.
