Erie Freeze News Release
(Huntington, W. Va.) The Gannon University's "Dynamic Duo" of Vince "The Six Million Dollar Man" Austin and Darmel Whitfield combined for three touchdowns as the Erie Freeze moved into sole possession of the American Indoor Football League's Northern Conference with a hard fought 46-38 victory over the previously unbeaten Huntington Heroes in Huntington, West Virginia.
Whitfield scored on an 8-yard pass from David Dinkins while Austin hauled in two Dinkins passes including a highlight reel 40-yarder in the waning moments of the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
The Freeze improve its record to 4-0 for the 2006 AIFL campaign. Erie returns home to the "Igloo" at the Tullio Arena on Friday to face the Stuebenville Stampede.
