TODAY'S GAME: Game three of a four-game series against the Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park (0-2)...Game seven of an eight-game road trip against the Clearwater Threshers and Marauders (1-5)...First of three series (12 games) between the two clubs in 2018, with the only four games at LECOM Park coming this week...Florida finished 4-4 against Bradenton in 2017, including 1-3 on the road.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 22-year-old Tucker Davidson makes his 11th start of the season in game three against the Bradenton Marauders...The Amarillo, Texas native entered the 2018 season as the 13th- (Baseball America) and 23rd- (MLB.com) ranked prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization...The 6'2" southpaw did not factor into the decision of a 12-10 win over the Clearwater Threshers at Spectrum Field on June 1...The 2016 draft pick allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits, three walks and four strikeouts in 2.2 innings...Wednesday will be Davidson's first career start against the Marauders.
LATE RALLY STALLS IN LOSS TO BRADENTON: The Florida Fire Frogs losing streak extended to a season-long five games with a 7-5 loss to the Bradenton Marauders on Tuesday night...Jared James hit his first home run since April 18, and Kurt Hoekstra set a season-high with three hits...Josh Graham recorded all five strikeouts for the Fire Frogs' pitching staff.
NEW SPOT IN THE LINEUP: Jared James hit leadoff for the first time this season, and responded by scoring three times...The 24-year-old also drove in two runs, including his first home run since April 18 against the Palm Beach Cardinals at Osceola County Stadium.
OFFENSIVE AWAKENING: Through six games in June, Florida's offense has already put up 31 runs...The Fire Frogs had scored 90 runs in may (24 games) and only 69 runs thorugh 24 games in April...The 31 runs are third in the league in the early portion of the third month of the season, trailing only Clearwater (45) and Daytona (36).
WELCOME BACK, CHASE!: Chase Johnson-Mullins was activated off the Mississippi Braves disabled list, and made his 2018 debut on Tuesday night...The lefty allowed a run on two hits and two walks in his first appearance since Aug. 30...The 6-foot-9 hurler went 1-5 through 25 games during the Fire Frogs' inaugural season, posting a 3.07era (15er/44.0ip) with 50 strikeouts.
ALL-STAR SELECTIONS: The Florida State League announced its rosters for the North and South squads on June 1, and three Fire Frogs will represent the Atlanta Braves' High-A affiliate in Tampa on on June 16...Chad Sobotka, Cristian Pache and were selected divisional coaches, GMs, official scorers and broadcasters...Sobotka has since been replaced by right-handed pitcher Sixto Sanchez of the Clearwater Threshers.
