TODAY'S GAME: Game one of a three-game series against the Clearwater Threshers (PHI) from Spectrum Field...Game four of a six-game road trip against the Dunedin Blue Jays and the Threshers (1-2)...Florida is coming off a 1-2 series loss to the Blue Jays at Dunedin Stadium...Fourth and final series (12 games) against the Philadelphia Phillies' affiliate, with seven coming at Spectrum Field (1-3)...The Atlanta Braves' dropped three of four against Clearwater on the road from June 1-3...The series in Clearwater wraps up a stretch of 23 games in 21 days for the Fire Frogs.

TODAY'S STARTING PITCHER: 20-year-old Joey Wentz makes his 14th start of the season in the series opener against the Clearwater Threshers...The 6'5" hurler entered the 2018 season as the 10th-ranked prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization, according to MLB.com, and has since moved up to ninth...The Shawnee Mission East High School product earned his third win of the season in an 11-3 victory over the Clearwater Threshers on July 14...The southpaw blanked the Philadelphia Phillies' affiliate over 6.2 frames on five hits, a walk and five strikeouts on 99 pitches (67 strikes)...Thursday will be Wentz's second career start against the Threshers.

FLORIDA CLOSES OUT SERIES WITH WIN OVER DUNEDIN: The Florida Fire Frogs closed out the 2018 schedule against the Dunedin Blue Jays with a 9-3 victory at Dunedin Stadium on Wednesday night. The Fire Frogs wrapped up the season series with a 4-6 mark against the Blue Jays, including 4-2 on the road.

Jared James and Braxton Davidson both had three-hit nights, and combined to drive in five of the team's nine runs.

PERFECT 10: Cristian Pache's two-hit performance stretched the 19-year-old's hitting streak to 10 games (setting a season-high), and advanced his on-base streak to 13 games...During the hitting streak, the Atlanta Braves' eighth-ranked prospect (MLB.com) is batting .372 (16-for-43) with two home runs...During the on-base streak, the center fielder is hitting .396 (21-for-53) with three long balls and six RBI...The Fire Frogs' center fielder also collected his 98th and 99th hits of the season, tying Adam Hasely (since promoted to Double-A Reading) for the league lead.

BACON BOUNCES BACK: Troy Bacon rebounded nicely after allowing three runs in two-thirds of an inning on Monday night...The Tampa native struck out three batters through two frames in the finale on Wednesday, giving up just one hit and walking one batter.

SNAPPING OUT OF IT: Brett Cumberland closed out the series against Dunedin on a high note. After starting the three-game set in an 0-for-10, the switch hitter had a sharp single in the fifth to keep the inning alive for Jared James' RBI single, and drilled a solo shot to left-center in the seventh for his second home run of the year as a right-handed batter...The product of Cal drew a free pass in his final at-bat to lead off the ninth.
