Spokane Empire News Release
SPOKANE, Washington- The Empire has re-signed defensive back Lorenzo White Jr. to their 2017 IFL roster.
White (DB, 6-0, 195, Central Michigan) re-joins the Empire for his third year as a member of the IFL. Last season in Spokane, Lorenzo saw action in 11 contests while recording 26.5 total tackles, two interceptions, and two pass break-ups.
"We are excited to add more experience to our defensive secondary," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "Lorenzo made some big plays for us last year both on defense and special teams. He's an extremely coachable young man with terrific football instincts."
In 2015 with the Tri-Cities Fever, White joined the team after the first three games of the regular season and went on to play in seven games where he recorded 20.5 total tackles (16 solos), one tackle for loss, two pass break-ups, and one interception. After suffering a minor injury, White sat out the last few regular season games before returning to the active roster for the Fever's playoff game. In 2013, White worked out with the NFL's Miami Dolphins and was in camp with the CFL's Montreal Allouettes. He also has had a workout invite with the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
Before beginning his professional career, White played all four of his collegiate seasons at Central Michigan University where he competed in 44 total contests and recorded 95 total tackles, one interception, and 15 pass break-ups (ten during his senior season). White is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
