FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (4-4) used a big third quarter from Justin Dentmon to take control of the second half and defeat the Salt Lake City Stars (1-8) 112-110 Saturday night in Frisco.

Texas streaked through eight points to open the game before the Stars grabbed their first basket. After leading by as many as nine, the Legends allowed a 10-1 run from the visitors to tie up the game. The two continued to exchange baskets remaining tied at the buzzer. The Stars took control of the second quarter with back-to-back baskets and stretched the lead to 12.

Down by seven coming out of the locker room, Texas went on a 25-6 run to pull ahead by double-digits. Dentmon knocked down 7-of-10 and 5-of-6 outside for 21 points in the quarter. Texas outscored Salt Lake City 36-17 and held a 12-point advantage going into the final minutes. The Stars came out firing, opening the fourth with six unanswered points and regained the lead with three minutes to play. Keith Hornsby responded with a long ball seconds later giving the Legends their final lead of the night. With missed attempts on both ends of the court, the Legends held off the Stars for the final two minutes.

Dentmon led all scorers with 34 while adding 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Johnathan Motley had his fifth double-double of the season with 21 points, 14 rebounds while Hornsby (17), Kyle Collinsworth (16), and JJ Avila (11) rounded off the double-digit scoring.

Eric Griffin and Nate Wolters added 25 and 24 for the Stars respectively while Alonzo Nelson-Ododa grabbed a team-high 11 boards.
