MESQUITE, Texas. The Marshals has re-signed WR Cordell Roberson to the Marshals 2017 roster.
Roberson (WR, 6-4, 215, Stephen F. Austin University) rejoins the Marshals for his 2nd CIF season and second in Dallas. Last season, Cordell competing in nine regular season games for the Marshals. He finished the season with 35 catches for 511 yards and 18 TD's. Cordell also avg. 14.6 yards a catch.
Roberson was signed to the Buffalo Bills practice squad on Oct. 29, 2013. Terminated from practice squad by Carolina Panthers on Oct. 8, 2013. Signed to the Carolina Panthers practice squad on Oct. 2, 2013. Cordell was waived by the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 26, 2013. He was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by Cleveland Browns on May 1, 2013.
2012 (Senior): First-Team All-Southland Conference ... Played in and started all 9 games... Finished with 77 catches for 1006 yards and 10 touchdowns ...He avg. 13.1 yards a catch and 114 yards per game.
2011 (Junior): First-Team All-Southland Conference ... Played in and started all 11 games... Finished second in the conference and 25th in the nation in receptions (5.7 rpg) ... Made 63 catches for 794 yards and nine touchdowns ... Had four catches for 84 yards and two scores at Lamar ... Also recorded a season-long 55-yard reception against the Cardinals ... Had seven catches for 115 yards against nationally ranked Northern Iowa ... Recorded a season-high 13 catches for 100 yards and one score at Central Arkansas ... Had an eight-catch performance for 115 yards and three touchdowns at Nicholls.
2010 (Sophomore): Second-team FCS Sports Network All-America selection ... Received first-team All-Southland Conference honors ... Played in and started all 12 games ... Led the nation with 16 touchdown receptions ... Finished second on the squad with 61 receptions, and led the team 1,011 yards receiving ... Finished 18th in the country averaging 84.2 yards per game ... Also averaged better than 16 yards per reception ... Recorded a touchdown catch in all but two games, including eight-straight games last season ... Recorded five multiple touchdown games ... Caught a career-high nine receptions for 71 yards against Villanova ... Hauled in five passes for a career-high 162 yards and two scores in the win over Sam Houston State ... Had six catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns against Southeastern Louisiana ... Followed that up with eight receptions for 141 yards and a score in the regular-season finale versus Northwestern State ... Also recorded two TDs in wins over Lamar, Central Arkansas and Nicholls.
2009 (Freshman): Played in 11 games earning two starts ... Hauled in 20 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns ... Averaged 19 yards per catch ... Had four receptions of 40 yards or more ... Caught only one pass against North Dakota, but took it 80 yards for the score ... Had a 52-yard touchdown reception against Texas College ... Hauled in a season-high seven receptions for 128 yards and one touchdown at Northwestern State ... Caught four passes for 89 yards and score in the FCS opening-round playoff game against Eastern Washington.
High School: Hauled in 54 receptions for 794 yards and 10 touchdowns ... A 2008 District 17-2A Offensive Co-MVP and a second-team all-district defensive back ... 2008 honorable mention all-state ... Lists best game against Paul Pewitt, catching nine balls for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns ... Helped get JHS to bidistrict title of 2A playoffs in 2008 ... 2007-08 TABC all-state selection in basketball.
