In addition to Maher, the induction class will include Chad Severs, Brad Young, Alicia Turner, Ira Kosloff, Mike Pellegrino, Scott Blackley, and Bill Siteman.

Maher joined the KiXX as a free agent prior to 2008-09 season and finished the campaign with 44 points to rank fourth on the team and eighth among all National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) scorers. He was also named the League's Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending December 7 and eclipsed several career accolades this season including 100 goals and 200 points.

The eight-year veteran began his professional indoor career with Cleveland Force in 2002 and also competed indoors with the Kansas City Comets (2003-2005), Chicago Storm (2005-2006), and Milwaukee Wave (2006-2008). Maher also played professionally outdoors with the Wilmington Hammerheads (USL-2), Syracuse Salty Dogs (USL-1), and Carolina Railhawks (USL-1).

Maher graduated Middle Township High School second all-time in scoring and continued his education at Mercyhurst College where he was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Year in 2000 and 2001 and a NSCAA Division II All-American in 2001. He is also the institution's all-time leading goal scorer.

The South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 1988 and a member can be an official, player, coach, or contributor. The selection criteria as a player include a minimum of two-years of varsity level in South Jersey, a member of League's all-star team, and positive representation of the game. Other factors considered are captain recognition, awards, college involvement and successes, and club soccer participation.
