Blaze Assigned WR Kimble Tillman

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze have been assigned rookie wide receiver Kimble Tillman, the franchise announced Thursday. Tillman arrives in Utah for his first season of Arena Football following a standout career at Whittier College (CA).

"Kimble is an extremely talented athlete with the ability to contribute in multiple areas," said Head Coach Ron James. "He is an extremely competitive player and possesses very good speed. Kimble worked hard for this opportunity and we're happy to have him join the Blaze."

An all-purpose threat, Tillman (5-10, 160, Whittier) saw time at running back, wide receiver, and on special teams during his career at Division III Whittier College, where he racked up 3,679 all-purpose yards with 29 touchdowns over 33 games. As a senior in 2012, Tillman posted 44 receptions for 790 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns while adding 458 yards and another score on 18 kickoff returns.

The Utah Blaze travel to Des Moines to play the Iowa Barnstormers this Saturday, July 20. Kickoff from Wells Fargo Arena is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. MT.
