
Bighorns Late Rally Overcome by Legends

Frisco, Texas ---- The Reno Bighorns (3-10) fell to the Texas Legends (7-5) 128-118 Wednesday night at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.
Sacramento Kings Affiliate Player Lamar Patterson led the Bighorns with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while Chane Behahan totaled 18 points, six rebounds and two assists. Pe'Shon Howard scored his season-high with 17 points while adding three rebounds and three assists. Reggie Hearn notched 14 points and two rebounds as Mark Tyndale poured in 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added four assists and three steals.
Pierre Jackson paced the Legends with 29 points, two rebounds and six assists while Quincy Acy logged a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds.
The opening minutes of the first frame was a tight battle that saw two lead changes and four ties in four minutes as the Bighorns held the advantage over at Legends at the 7:30 mark until Legends' Fell made a jumper to take control of the lead. The Bighorns kept the score close before the Legends would jump out to an eight-point lead heading into the second quarter. Patterson chipped in 11 points in the first frame.
The Bighorns chipped away at the Legends lead going on a 13-5 run to open the second frame knotting the score up at 41 with 8:54 to play in the first half. The Legends would take a five-point advantage over the Bighorns. Kadeem Jack and Pe'Shon Howard would both hit layups to edge the Legends 45-46 mid way though the quarter before the Legends went on a 10-0 run triggered by a three from Tony Wrotten. The Bighorns went on a late rally, but trailed the Legends 67-60 at the half.
The Legends continued to hold their advantage over the Bighorns in the third frame, leading by as many as 16 and going into the final frame with an 11 point lead.
The Bighorns emerged from the break to outscore the Legends 31-25 in the final frame. The Bighorns kept the Legends scoreless the first two and a half minutes until Acy scored a layup. The Bighorns fought back to bring the score to 109-98 with 7:21 to play. The Bighorns went on a 17-6 run after a layup by Major to take a one point lead with 3:40 in play. The Legends would retake control of the lead after a free throw from Jackson and would not relinquish.
The Bighorns will next travel to Des Moines, Iowa to face the Energy on Friday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m.
