FORT MYERS, Fla. - Brady Anderson turned in a quality start, but the Jupiter Hammerheads slipped past the Fort Myers Miracle, 2-1, Saturday night at Hammond Stadium.

Anderson (0-3), a start after lasting only three innings, pitched six innings against the first place Hammerheads. The right hander struck out five and did not walk a batter, the third time in four starts he has not issued a free pass.

Jupiter right-hander Robert Dugger (3-1) was equally impressive. The former Seattle Mariners draft pick allowed an unearned run and just three hits. Dugger has pitched at least five innings in all six of his starts this season.

Jupiter opened the scoring with a third inning sacrifice fly from Mason Davis. The Hammerheads made it 2-0 in the fourth when Eric Gutierrez doubled to left.

The Miracle scored their lone run of the game in the fourth. With two outs and no one on, Jaylin Davis and Travis Blankenhorn both singled. With Taylor Grzelakowski batting, a passed ball against Chris Hoo allowed Davis to score to cut the deficit to 2-1. After walking Grzelakowski, Dugger limited the damage by striking out Jared Foster to end the inning.

The Miracle put runners at second and third in the ninth inning with two out, but Lukas Schiraldi struck out Mark Contreras to end the game. Schiraldi earned his sixth save in as many chances.

The series win is on the line Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers in the rubber game of the three-game set. The Miracle will send right-hander Clark Beeker (0-1, 2.76) to the mound, while Jupiter counters with left-hander Daniel Castano (4-1, 3.77). First pitch is slated for 4:00 p.m.
