Blue Bombers Add Two to Roster

WINNIPEG, MB., April 9, 2015 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added International running back Da'Rel Scott, and International defensive end/linebacker Derrell Johnson.

Scott (5-11, 210, Maryland, May 26, 1988, in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania) was drafted in the 7th round, 221st overall by the New York Giants in 2011. He played 20 NFL games, with 31 carries for 98 yards, 13 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown. Scott played collegiate football at Maryland, playing in 41 games, starting 29, and rushing for 2,401 yards and 17 touchdowns during his five seasons.

Johnson (6-2, 255, East Carolina, March 27, 1990 in Baltimore, Maryland) went undrafted in 2014 after leading East Carolina with a career-high 80 tackles as a senior in 2013, also adding eight sacks and 14 tackles for loss, while starting all 13 games. Playing both defensive end and linebacker at East Carolina, Johnson was a four-year starter for the Pirates and a two-time All-Conference USA defender. He finished his collegiate career with 221 tackles, 19 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. Johnson signed contracts with the Miami Dolphins, and later the Arizona Cardinals, in 2014.
