
Bighorns Come up Short in Delaware

NEWARK, Del., Feb. 10, 2015- Despite Bighorns guard Tajuan Porter posting a career-high 35 points and Jordan Hamilton logging another double-double, the Bighorns fell 145-138 to the Delaware 87ers Tuesday morning at the Bob Carpenter Sports Center.
Porter led the Bighorns with 35 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Hamilton notched a double-double with 24 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Guard Ra'Shad James totaled 23 points, five rebounds, and three assists against the 87ers.
Victor Rudd led the 87ers, netting 27 points, adding 12 rebounds and three blocked shots. Sean Kilpatrick also added 27 points, seven assists, and five rebounds for the 87ers.
Porter paced the Bighorns in the first quarter with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists. Porter went 4-5 from the field in the quarter. James tallied seven points in the first.
In the second quarter, Hamilton led the Bighorns with eight points, two steals, two rebounds, and two assists. James added eight points for the Bighorns while Porter added six points. The Bighorns went 13-24 from the field in the quarter, going into the locker room at the half with a 67-59 lead.
The Bighorns shot 54.0% from the field (27-50) compared to the 87er's 52.4%.
Porter went 6-9 from the field and 2-3 from behind the arc in the first half.
Porter lit-up the court in the third quarter, notching 15 points and going 6-7 from the field, and 3-4 from the paint. Hamilton totaled 7 points, four assists and five rebounds in the third while David Wear added six points.
During the final quarter in play, David Stockton netted 11 points, and added two steals for the Bighorns. Hamilton had seven points and five rebounds.
Porter finished the second half of the game going 8-12 from the field and 7-7 from the three-point line while Sim Bhullar went 100% from the field.
The Bighorns continue on the road, taking on the Canton Charge Thursday afternoon. The Bighorns return home Thursday, February 19 to face the Austin Spurs.
