Chicago Bandits News Release
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Chicago Bandits GM, Aaron M. Moore, announced today the re-signing of veteran infielder Amber Patton for the 2015 season.
Drafted out of DePaul University in 2009, the former Defensive Player of the Year finished the 2014 campaign with a .281 batting average. Patton also had a .325 on-base percentage on the year, and she scored 16 runs and had 10 RBIs. She finished third overall on the Bandits with a fielding percentage of .959 with 45 putouts and 71 assists.
"The Bandits are very excited to have Amber Patton re-sign with the team for the 2015 season," said Moore. "It is a little bittersweet since it will most likely be her last season in the NPF, but we're excited to have her back.
"Amber is a big reason the team has been successful, both on and off the field, for several seasons. She's a true professional and important piece to the Bandit family. Amber is a veteran leader and can still play the game at a high level. We're looking forward to a great 2015."
A two-time All-NPF Team selection, Patton is looking forward to getting back on the field with the team she's enjoyed playing for her entire professional career.
"Beyond thrilled to say that I'm retuning for the 2015 season and blessed that all seven years of my professional career have come with the Bandits," said Patton. "I'm excited and anxious for the season to begin. "
Patton continued, "With this being my final season in the NPF, I'm looking to go out with a bang and bring a championship back to Rosemont where it belongs!
Patton has spent her entire career in a Bandits uniform. Through six seasons, she owns a career batting average of .302 and has collected 215 hits.
During the off-season Patton works for Total Control Sports in their sales department as well as running clinics and lessons for youth softball players throughout the Chicagoland area.
