Rochester Knighthawks News Release

Forward Todd Kozak has signed a one-year deal with the defending National Lacrosse League champion Rochester Knighthawks. Kozak will now attend the team's Training Camp this weekend in Rochester.

"I couldn't be more excited. I am just grateful for the opportunity," said the 23-year-old. "I am just looking forward to going out there and working hard."

The Mississauga, Ontario native spent the 2014 season playing Senior "B" lacrosse for the Oakville Titans and also received a call-up from the Brampton Excelsiors of Major Series Lacrosse. Kozak has played in 17 games with Brampton over the past three seasons and has contributed three goals and three assists. With the Excelsiors, he played with Knighthawks like Dan and Paul Dawson, Dylan Evans and Mike Kirk.

"I was thrown right into the lineup and got a ton of experience and exposure that first year," he said about the 2013 season. "It's really helped me a lot going into camp just knowing the guys I am going up against and playing with. It was a great experience."

During his Junior "A" career, which spanned five seasons, Kozak scored 75 goals and posted 180 points in 95 games. His finest campaign was in 2010 with the Burlington Chiefs when he netted 21 goals and chipped in 30 assists as part of a 51-point season.

Kozak played his collegiate lacrosse at Division II Limestone College. In 30 games with the Saints, he recorded 16 goals, four assists and 10 ground balls. During his time Limestone, the team compiled an incredible 43-6 record. Prior to committing to Limestone, he was a member of the Edge Senior Elite Team.

"We had some great teams and we made the Final Four every year," said Kozak. "I had a great experience in a small town in South Carolina where the atmosphere was all lacrosse all the time."

Kozak will bring all of his experience to Training Camp this weekend, as he hits the floor with the team who has won the past three Champion's Cups.

"You have to keep a level head, especially when you start mentioning the caliber of these kind of players," he said. "I believe I can contribute to a team like this, whether it's on the back end of things, the practice squad or just showing up to practice. I am just trying to do my part and make the hustle plays. Then the scoring plays will come."
