Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Fresh off a thrilling 5-4 shootout loss to the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday in front of a sold out crowd of 6,477 at the Fairgrounds Coliseum, the Indy Fuel received defenseman Dillon Fournier on Saturday, as the 6'2", 187 lb. Montreal native was assigned to the Fuel by Indy's AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. A 20 year-old, left-handed shooting rookie blueliner, Fournier was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (48th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
In 207 combined games played over the course of four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2010 to 2014, Fournier tallied 31 goals and 108 total points, along with a +19 rating and 212 penalty minutes, in one season with the Lewiston MAINEiacs (2010-11) and three campaigns with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (2011-14). Fournier will wear number 23 for the Fuel and will not appear in Indy's Saturday road game in Fort Wayne.
Next up for the Fuel, it's a Saturday rematch with the Komets, set for a 7:30 pm faceoff at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. Full coverage of Saturday's game begins at 7:15 pm on the CBS Sports 1430 live stream on www.cbssports1430.com with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play. The Fuel drop the puck on their next home game at 7:05 pm on Wednesday, October 22nd vs. the Kalamazoo Wings at the Fairgrounds Coliseum on "College Night."
