Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived center Asya Bussie and guard Theairra Taylor. The Lynx roster now stands at 14 players.
Bussie, a second-round pick (15th overall) by the Lynx in the 2014 WNBA Draft, did not appear in last night's preseason game with the Lynx due to a strained right quadriceps. Taylor, a training camp invitee, appeared in Minnesota's first preseason game Monday night, scoring two points and grabbing two rebounds in 17 minutes.
Minnesota travels to Orlando, Fla. on Friday, May 9 where it will face the Phoenix Mercury in the first-ever WNBA Preseason Tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever will face each other prior to the Lynx vs. Mercury game. The winners of the opening round of games will meet on Sunday, May 11 and will be preceded by a consolation game with the other two teams.
The 2013 WNBA Champion Lynx will tip off the 2014 season on the road at Washington on Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. The 2014 home opener will be on Sunday, May 18 vs. Connecticut at 4 p.m., which will feature a historic ring ceremony and championship banner for the 2013 WNBA Champions.
