
Mills Agrees to AHL Deal With Rockford

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Monday that center Brad Mills has agreed to an American Hockey League contract with the Rockford IceHogs for the 2013-14 season.
Mills, 30, joined Rockford in January and totaled 7g-9a-16pts in 33 games with the IceHogs. The Terrace, British Columbia native began the season with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies, playing in 27 contests and notching 15g-20a-35pts.
With Mills in the lineup in 2013-14, beginning on Feb. 1, the IceHogs went 21-10-1-0.
The 2013-14 campaign will be Mills' seventh in the pro ranks. The center spent his first six years with the New Jersey Devils organization, appearing in 31 career contests with the Devils. Mills has also skated in 285 career AHL tilts between Lowell, Albany and Rockford, totaling 46g-60a-106pts.
Before turning pro, Mills attended Yale University and in four years at the Ivy League school, he suited up and played in 96 games, accumulating 26g-35a-61pts.
Mills is the third player to sign an AHL contract with Rockford for the 2013-14 season, joining rookie forward Pat Mullane and defenseman Viktor Svedberg.
