Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Italian Soccer Legends Team up for a Youth Soccer Camp Benefitting Red

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 14, 2013) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have teamed up with several Italian soccer legends to host a youth soccer camp for a worthy cause in Red Card Cancer. AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini will be joined by Main Feuk, Ibou Ba and Stefano Nava at the camp, which takes place June 24-28, from 9-5pm on Monday-Thursday and 9-4pm on Friday, at historic Lockhart Stadium.

Alessandro "Billy" Costacurta, founder of Champions International Camps and former president of World Cup Italian Champions 2006, and Paolo Taveggia have formed a strategic partnership with Johns Hopkins Kimmel Center for Cancer and Red Card Cancer. The champions are matching the world's biggest sport against the most prevalent disease in the world - Cancer. This new national partnership will bring awareness to cancer research and promote a series of summer youth soccer camps hosted by Champions International Camps.

Champions International Camps was founded by four Italian soccer legends, Alessandro "Billy" Costacurta, Massimo Ambrosini, Fabio Cannavaro and Massimo Oddo. These players have won some of the most prestigious Italian and International awards. Their expertise, passion and values are the basis for their successful international youth camps which are now coming to cities across the U.S. this summer. The curriculum will teach Italian techniques in a fun atmosphere of fair play.

Red Card Cancer is a call to action, uniting the soccer community against cancer by supporting cancer research. Red Card Cancer is partnered with professional and collegiate and youth clubs across the country. This innovative camp program is being sponsored by Red Card Cancer and NIKE Soccer. Red Card Cancer supports innovative cancer research at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
