Southern Illinois Miners News Release
Marion, IL - The Southern Illinois Miners have announced they will be taking overthe day-to-day concessions operations at Rent One Park. The change will take place starting this season. By taking the concessions operations in-house,it ends the partnership with Aramark, who has been the concessionaire since the stadium opened in 2007.
"The Miners have an incredible fan base," said Jayne Simmons, Owner of the Miners. "We are constantly looking for ways to improve their experience at the ballpark. Managing our concessions ourselves is going to give fans a better food and beverages menu with even more variety."
Overseeing the concession transition will be Miners General Manger Tim Arseneau. Arseneau has an extensive background in concessions. Prior to joining the Southern Illinois Miners, Tim oversaw the day-to-day concessions operations for three minor league teams: the South Bend Silver Hawks, West Virginia Power & Mahoning Valley Scrappers. In 2003, Arseneau worked with the Philadelphia Phillies Florida Operations in Clearwater, Florida. He served as the Food and Beverage Manager, overseeing the design and building of the concessions operation for the New Bright House Network Field in Clearwater. In addition to Bright House Network Field, he also oversaw the design and build of the concessions operations for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 1999 & West Virginia Power in 2005.
"I am extremely about the opportunity to be more involved in the day to day concessions operation," said General Manager Tim Arseneau. "I look forward to bring a new and improved menu item to Rent One Park."
The Southern Illinois Miners are the 2012 Frontier League Champions and have been awarded the Frontier League Organization of the Year three times since its inception. It has also set a new Frontier League attendance record in 2007.
