Idaho Stampede Snap Warriors Winning Streak

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Idaho Stampede defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors 109-101 Wednesday night and snapped the Warriors' NBA D-League best nine-game winning streak.

The Warriors were paced by Stefhon Hannah, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 assists. Hilton Armstrong had 16 points, while Jeremy Tyler scored 15 and grabbed nine boards.

Idaho was led by Justin Holiday, who scored a game-high 36 points. Sean Evans logged a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 14 boards, while Coby Karl scored 16 and dished out nine assists.

The Warriors raced out to an 18-point lead by the start of the second quarter and led 58-47 at the half. Idaho inched closer through the third quarter, starting the final frame within one point of the Warriors' lead. The Stampede went ahead with 6:24 left in the game off a Sean Evans reverse dunk, but the Warriors were able to keep it close until the final seconds. Coby Karl hit a fadeaway jump shot with 23.8 left in the game to put the Stampede up three and the Warriors never scored again.

Santa Cruz shot 48.2% from the field compared to Idaho's 47.5%. Santa Cruz won the rebound battle (46-36), scored more points in the paint (50-46) and had more steals (16-8), while both teams had 26 assists.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, March 29 at the Kaiser Permanente Arena to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Every fan in attendance will receive a David Lee bobblehead.
