Mavericks' Forward Kellan Tochkin Named CHL Rookie of the Month

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Monday Mavericks' forward Kellan Tochkin has been named 50/50 Central/CHL Rookie of the Month for February.

Tochkin was tied for the team lead in scoring during the month with 17 points on six goals and 11 assists and he had a +5 rating. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native scored points in eight of the 12 games the Mavericks played during the month and he helped the team to a 7-5-0 record.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound rookie had multiple points in five games including back-to-back four-point games, and he was also named the CHL's player of the week in February.

Overall, the first-year player has 12 goals and 20 assists in 44 games ranking fourth on the Mavericks in scoring and eighth in the CHL among rookies. He is the second Mavericks' player to be named rookie of the month this season along with Mavericks' goaltender Mike Clemente.
