Philadelphia Freedoms Announce New Logo and Amp up for 2013 SeasonFebruary 6, 2013 - World TeamTennis (WTT) - Philadelphia Freedoms
The new logo, designed by Philadelphia-area marketing firm 23K, was part of a collection of logo choices available to fans in an online vote held earlier this year.
"The new logo embodies the excitement and fast pace of a Freedoms match and gives us an updated, more versatile identity," said team owner Billie Jean King.Â "We have some ofthe best fans in WTT at our matches and it was a lot of fun to get them involved in the selection of our new logo."
Now in their 14thÂ season, the Philadelphia Freedoms will draft their marquee players for the 2013 season at noon on Tuesday, February 12. The draft may be followed live on WTT.com/MarqueeDraft with real-time updates on the Freedoms' Facebook and Twitter pages.Â The Freedoms will complete their roster during the Mylan WTT Roster Draft on March 12.
The Freedoms play seven nights of matches each year during the month of July at The Pavilion at Villanova University.Â Their schedule is expected to be finalized in early March and will include enticing matches with the some of the world's most elite players, themed nightsÂ with free giveaways, and guaranteed family-friendly entertainment. Season ticket packages go on sale February 12, 2013; individual tickets go on sale April 1, 2013.
The 2013 Mylan WTT regular season runs July 7-24 with the top two teams from both the Eastern and Western Conference advancing to the conference championships on July 25. The Mylan WTT Finals presented by GEICO are scheduled for Sunday, July 28.
The 2013 Philadelphia Freedoms are presented by Beneficial Bank and hosted by Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
