Indiana Ice News Release

The Indiana Ice mustered only 15 shots on net as they fell to the Team USA U18 squad 4-1 from the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Friday.

Mitch Hults scored the lone tally for Indy while Anderson Snair faced a 37-shot barrage in his fifth USHL contest.

Team USA controlled the pace of the entire contest from opening puck drop to the final buzzer. The Americans allowed only one shot on net while peppering I*** goaltender Anderson Snair with 14 bullets.

Snair was equal to 12 of the 14 shots by the talented Team USA U18 squad, allowing goals by the Red, White and Blue's Sean Malone and John Hayden before going into the locker room for the first intermission.

The Americans' stout defense once again limited Indy to a single-digit shot count while putting up ten shots of their own in the middle period. A goal by Keaton Thompson extended the deficit to a 3-0 tilt with over 13 minute left in the second stanza.

Indy's lone goal came off the tape of Mitch Hults as the recently acquired forward picked up his second career goal from the low slot to put the Ice on the board. Mikhail Plotnikov extended his impressive point streak to four games with an assist on the tally. The Russian forward has seven points (2G, 5A) in the stretch dating back to Indy's 3-2 loss to Green Bay earlier this month.

Team USA forward Tyler Motte's empty netter with 40 seconds left in the contest finalized the score at 4-1.

Indy wraps up the weekend on Saturday as the Ice battle the Muskegon Lumberjacks from L.C. Walker Arena at 7:15 pm.

Hockey action returns to the Circle City on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2 for a double-header with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Saturday's contest is "Hockey for Heart" night, presented by the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana.
