San Antonio Spurs Assign Kawhi Leonard to NBA D-League Affiliate Austin Toros

NEW YORK, Dec. 19, 2012 - The San Antonio Spurs today assigned second-year guard/forward Kawhi Leonard to the Austin Toros, the Spurs' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the first for Leonard and the 61st of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons. He becomes the 37th NBA player to be have been assigned to the NBA D-League this season.
Leonard (6-7, 225, San Diego State) will practice with the Toros in San Antonio today as he continues his rehabilitation process from quadriceps tendinitis, left knee. Prior to his injury, Leonard appeared in nine games for the Spurs, averaging 10.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 28.9 minutes.
