November 30, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL) Utah Blaze

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze strengthened its offensive line with the addition of veteran OL Shannon Tevaga, the franchise announced today. Now in his third season in the Arena Football League, Tevaga spent the previous two seasons with the Spokane Shock.

"Shannon is a tremendous veteran player with a proven track record in the Arena Football League," said Head Coach Ron James. "He's a player that has NFL ability, as well as the size and strength to compete at the highest level. Adding Shannon to our front will allow us to continue to the high level of production we've had on offense and we're extremely excited to have him."

Over the past two seasons, Tevaga (6-3, 320, UCLA) has started every game in which he's played for the Spokane Shock. He arrived in the Arena Football League as a rookie in 2011 after beginning his professional football career with the Oakland Raiders.

Tevaga started 41 games during his collegiate career at UCLA, twice earning All-Pac-10 Conference accolades. He burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2004 and was named a Freshman All-American in his first season. By the team he reach his senior season, Tevaga was named to the Watch List for the Rotary Lombardi Award, presented annual to the top lineman in college football.

"I'm excited to be a part of the Blaze family and excited to compete for a championship" Tevaga stated. "Go Blaze!"
