Los Angeles Lakers Re-Assign Darius Johnson-Odom to D-Fenders

NEW YORK, Nov. 25, 2012 - The Los Angeles Lakers re-assigned first-year guard Darius Johnson-Odom to the Los Angeles D-Fenders, the Lakers' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment is the fourth for Johnson-Odom and the 15th overall of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Originally selected 55th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2012 NBA Draft before being acquired by the Lakers on Draft night, Johnson-Odom (6-2, 215, Marquette) has appeared in four games for the Lakers this season, averaging 1 rebound and 1.5 minutes. In three preseason games for the Lakers this year, he averaged 2.0 points and 4.7 minutes.

Johnson-Odom returns to the D-Fenders following three previous assignments earlier in November. During those assignments, he appeared in one preseason game for the D-Fenders, scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds in 39 minutes.

Johnson-Odom is expected to join the D-Fenders today and be available when the team tips off its 2012-13 campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when it hosts the Idaho Stampede.
