Oklahoma City Thunder Assign Liggins and Orton to NBA D-League Affiliate Tulsa 66ers

NEW YORK, Nov. 22, 2012 - The Oklahoma City Thunder today assigned DeAndre Liggins and Daniel Orton to the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder's NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the first for Liggins and the second in Orton's career and the 13th and 14th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Orton (6-10, 255, Kentucky) returns to the 66ers having earned the 2012-13 NBA D-League's first GATORADE Call-Up when he was signed by the Thunder from Tulsa on Oct. 31.

In one game for the Thunder this season, Orton scored two points in two minutes. Originally selected in the first round, 29th overall, of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, he appeared in 16 regular season games (two starts) with the Magic last season,

Liggins (6-6, 209, Kentucky) joins Tulsa having appeared in four games for the Thunder this season. A second-year guard, Liggins was originally selected by the Magic in the second round, 53rd overall, of the 2011 NBA Draft and was acquired by the Thunder in September. In 17 games for Orlando during his rookie campaign he averaged 1.9 points and 6.8 minutes.

Liggins and Orton are expected to join the 66ers today and be available when the team tips off their 2012-13 NBA D-League season on Friday, Nov. 23 playing host to the visiting Texas Legends.
